For most members their regular contact is with one of our Groups. The Area’s Handbook includes details of any walks planned well in advance by our Groups. Berwyn Ramblers is based around Llangollen. We have a programme of Thursday walks to which all are welcome. Our name comes from the Berwyn Mountains but we don't restrict ourselves to that area, you will find our walks anywhere within about an hour drive of our base.
The Clwydian Group helps local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Our Group organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. We arrange Group walks locally and further afield in Snowdonia, there is a good range of walks to suit most abilities. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore. The Group is based around Buckley, Mold and Ruthin.
We organise a range of walks to help people enjoy walking, from short walks to mountain tops and trips away to explore other areas. We work with other local bodies to protect the places we love to walk.
Deeside Ramblers Walking Group is based in North East Flintshire, North Wales and is the local Group of The Ramblers. We encourage new and experienced walkers to join us; non-members and Ramblers members are very welcome to come and enjoy our guided walks which take place throughout the year.
We have around fifty walks each year, ranging from short, easy strolls to more challenging days in the high mountains. With a lovely coastline and the hills of Eryri, and much in between, there is always a walk to appeal. In the summer we travel further afield for our popular long weekend of walks, while throughout the year we have a range of social activities, from a dinner and quiz night in the winter to a summer beach barbeque. Putting something back, we also have a team of enthusiastic volunteers who carry out footpath repairs and improvements in our area.
Meirionnydd Ramblers are a friendly group of people who enjoy walking, the wonderful local countryside and the company of other people. We organise regular walks, ranging from modest countryside rambles to strenuous mountain hikes, all led by Group volunteers. It’s a great way to get outside, make new friends and improve your health and happiness. We’re always especially pleased to welcome newcomers so why not come out and try walking with us?
Welcome to our walking group. We offer a year-round programme of walks which will help you to discover the beauty of the North Wales’ countryside. Our walks are led by experienced local members enabling you to enjoy all the benefits of walking without the worry of getting lost or planning a route. Why not give us a try, you would be made most welcome by our friendly group of members. All newcomers can join us for two or three trial walks before deciding whether to join.
Our Group draws its members from the County of Wrexham. We walk extensively in our County and also the neighbouring Welsh Counties. Being so close to the border we also visit Cheshire and Shropshire.
We are the local group of The Ramblers based on the beautiful island of Anglesey (Ynys Môn). We think walking is a great way to meet new friends and boost your health and happiness. Our members lead walks for all ages and abilities, both on the island and the mainland. Newcomers, both resident and visiting, are made very welcome and may try a couple of walks before committing to membership of The Ramblers.
We also have a team of volunteers called The Silver Slashers who work closely with Anglesey County Council to improve the footpath network.
AFFILIATED WALKING GROUPS:
In North Wales we also have a number of walking groups who are ‘Affiliated Groups’. They pay an annual affiliation fee to the Ramblers.
While these groups are not usually involved in footpath work, access rights and other campaigns they do offer additional opportunities for led walks.
